Voyageur Canoes measuring 35 to 40 feet in length, were the most popular means of transportation in Canada. People who worked to paddle these canoes (10-14 people) were called Voyageurs. These early travelers were the backbone of the developing economy of Canada. Voyageur Canoes were used to transport goods into the wilderness of Canada, returning each year with a bounty of furs, along with stories of this great land unfolding before them.
